LIBRARY COURSE:
“Getting Acquainted with the D/JCGS Library”
This class to learn of our
Library's resources is for members of the Society and is being offered again
this spring. Tentative dates for the
3-session course are April 22, April 29, and
A great number of new resources
have been added these past several years. Those attending will select from a
list of topics which may be more pertinent to their needs. Time will be allowed
to pursue these needs within the framework of the

A frequently heard comment in our genealogical library is,
"Oh, I didn't know we had that."
The time had come to learn to use the many tools that we
have.
The course touches on
all segments of our collection and is a hands-on learning session. It
looks into those "how-to" books, delves into mysteries of gazetteers
and maps that are in our collection, finds all the sources for information on a
surname being searched, checks out those circuit court records and abstract
books for what they can reveal to us.
The course is taught
by Elizabeth Haban, society librarian, and Doris Quinn, society secretary.
