Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 105 Juneau St., Lowell, invites the area communities to join in celebrating its 140th anniversary with a special worship service on Nov. 8 at 10 a.m.

Rev. Anthony Straseske, a son of the congregation, will be the guest preacher.  Special music will be provided by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod Wind Ensemble, the Bethany Lutheran School hand bell choir, and the church’s choir and Sunday school.

Over the past 140 years the village of Lowell and the congregation has seen numerous changes as they move forward in history.  Following the worship service a brief slide presentation will be given showing archival photos of members and events from recorded photographed history.  In the fellowship hall a time line will be on display showing the history of the congregation.  Numerous photos and historical artifacts will also be on display to view.

A fellowship meal will follow for all members and guests. To help prepare for the meal, those planning on attending the meal are asked to call 927-5353.
