Holy
Family Church
Reeseville
On November
25, 1951,
Holy Family Church celebrated its Golden Jubilee. On June 10, 1901, the cornerstone was laid. On that occasion, Very Rev. A. Morrissey, C.S.C., then president of Notre Dame University,
presided over the ceremonies and delivered the address.
The blessing of the new church took
place on December 5, 1901.
Very Rev. A. Schinner, then Vicar General of
the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, represented the Archbishop and solemnly blessed
the new church, dedicating it and its members to the patronage of the Holy
Family. The task of undertaking the
construction of the church in Reeseville was under
the leadership of the Rev. J. P. Thillman, C.S.C., who was the first pastor of the parish.
During the fifty years of its
existence, Holy Family Church has served the needs of the Catholic population
of Reeseville and the surrounding countryside.
